Our Instructors

Monique started Ballroom Dancing as a way to meet people when she moved from Brazil. She has been dancing Ballroom and Latin for more than 20 years, and has won top honours in Bronze, Full Bronze and Silver competition levels. In 1977, she enrolled in an instructor’s course at Dance Class Saskatoon and graduated as a certified dance instructor in the Bronze and Silver levels.

Monique was a full time instructor in Saskatoon before moving to Winnipeg in 2001. After a short break, she taught classes at a Winnipeg studio from 2005 to 2008. In the fall of 2010, she became the main dance instructor for the Westview Dance Club.

In addition, Monique has a dance shoe company called “Shoe Glamour”. She provides stylish, comfortable Ballroom Dance shoes at an affordable price. See below for details.

After moving to Winnipeg she met Erv and they taught at various Dance Studios. Furthermore, they were dance instructors for the City of Winnipeg for 25 years, (Parks & Recreation Dept), which is now the current Leisure Guide.

They participated with the late Bill Daum’s Ballroom Dance Club for many years; following that they joined a Round Dance Club where they are currently members.
